I use a system of checks and balances including phase item checklists, quality assurance reviews, work-in-progress inspection and completion reviews, daily log documentation, photographs, and meeting notes. I communicate precise expectations to subs and assure it’s understood. I meet with city inspectors and walk each inspection with them. This proves valuable in learning from each inspector the personal preferences and details they focus on. Custom residential construction is relationship-based with knowledge, trust, integrity, and mutual respect key to success.
